Why learn French

There are plenty of reasons for studying a language.

On an individual level, studies tend to show that those who speak multiple languages develop a certain cognitive agility and forms of creativity that give them a real advantage. Furthermore, work has shown that companies that do not have sufficiently advanced multilingual skills among their workforces can lose out in economic terms. English is essential but is not enough (*).

The market should not, however, be the only prospect. Languages are centred around a series of values that enable us to act responsibly and in solidarity.

French is spoken by over 270 million people worldwide, according to the latest figures from the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (International Organisation for the French-Speaking World, OIF).
